Our Process

Designing performance-driven spaces with clarity and intent

A luxury fitness space is not equipment placed in a room — it is a fully coordinated system where layout, equipment strategy, lighting, ventilation, materials, acoustics, storage, and recovery zones are all planned together to support real training and daily use.

At Beachside Custom Gyms, every project begins with design. We first build the entire space virtually so every decision is clear before construction starts. From there, clients can move forward with their own team using a build-ready design package, or continue with us through procurement, installation, and full design-build execution.

Projects typically range from $90K to $300K+ depending on scope, equipment, and level of finish. For clients outside Southern California, remote design services are available.

Clear. Strategic. Built with Purpose.

At Beachside Custom Gyms, design is not just about creating a space — it’s about engineering environments that support performance, movement, and daily use while reflecting the lifestyle of the people who train in them. Every project is approached with clarity, collaboration, and a focus on how the space will actually function once built.

Let’s work
together

A focused vision with real execution potential

Designing a performance space is a structured journey — from first idea to fully built environment. Our process is clear, collaborative, and grounded in both design strategy and real construction understanding, ensuring every decision moves your project closer to a fully functional, build-ready result.

Our Process

Design-led process guided by project scope

01

Discovery & Advisory

We begin by reviewing your space, goals, and training requirements through a Design Advisory Session. This stage identifies spatial constraints, equipment needs, and construction considerations early so the project moves forward with clarity and confidence.

02

Spatial Planning & Strategy

We develop a complete layout strategy including equipment positioning, training flow, clearances, circulation, and infrastructure planning. The goal is to create a fully functional and build-ready fitness environment aligned with the architecture of the home.

03

Design Development

We refine the space with detailed material selection, lighting design, finishes, millwork, and specialty zones such as recovery or storage areas. This ensures the gym matches the design standard of the rest of the home while remaining highly functional.

04

Procurement & Coordination

We specify and source premium fitness equipment and coordinate directly with vendors and contractors. This ensures all equipment, finishes, and delivery timelines align seamlessly with construction and installation.

05

Installation & Execution

For Southern California projects, we oversee installation and, when required, full construction of the gym environment. From flooring and mirrors to final equipment setup, we ensure the space is delivered exactly as designed and ready for use.

A structured journey from vision to fully built performance space

We listen
We begin by understanding your goals, training style, space, and expectations — forming a clear foundation for the design.
We imagine
We translate your vision into spatial layouts, equipment strategy, and early design direction focused on function and flow.
We refine
Every detail is developed with intent — including materials, finishes, lighting, equipment placement, and usability.
We detail
We prepare precise design documentation and specifications to ensure a seamless transition into construction.
We handle it
We work with builders, vendors, and consultants to ensure every element is executed correctly and the design is fully realized.
Why us

Why our process matters

We believe the process is just as important as the final space. Our approach is designed to bring clarity, remove uncertainty, and ensure every decision supports both performance and design intent. From initial concept to final installation, we work as your partners in creating a fitness environment that is intentional, functional, and built to last.

“Every project begins with goals, constraints, and vision. Our role is to understand how the space will be used, explore the best possible solutions, and translate them into a fully resolved design that performs in the real world.”
