Why We’re Launching Our Blog — and How Podcasting Shaped the Way We Show Up
At Beachside, everything we do starts with space.
We design and build custom fitness environments for entrepreneurs, athletes, and business owners—but over time, we’ve learned that the most impactful work doesn’t begin with equipment layouts or floor plans. It begins with understanding people.
Their habits.
Their values.
Their motivations.
That’s why we’re launching this blog.
This space is meant to explore the ideas, experiences, and perspectives that live at the intersection of fitness, design, entrepreneurship, and the environments that shape how we show up every day. Sometimes the content here will be practical. Sometimes reflective. Sometimes opinionated. Always grounded in real-world experience.
This isn’t a highlight reel or a sales pitch. It’s a place for thoughtful conversations, evolving ideas, and lessons learned through years of working inside the fitness and building industries.
Why We Believe Conversations Matter as Much as Design
As designers and builders, we spend a lot of time thinking about how physical spaces influence behavior. A well-designed environment can support consistency, discipline, and clarity—or work against all three.
But equally important are the conversations that happen inside those spaces.
Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to be guests on several podcasts across the fitness, construction, and entrepreneurship worlds—most recently on Brad Levitt’s podcast. Each experience reinforced something we already believed but hadn’t fully articulated yet: great conversations don’t happen by accident.
The best podcast hosts we’ve worked with share a few defining traits:
They come prepared
They stay humble
They remain genuinely curious
And they prioritize understanding over performance
How Being a Podcast Guest Shaped Our Own Approach
Being on the other side of the microphone has been invaluable.
It’s shown us what it feels like to be:
Truly listened to
Asked thoughtful, informed questions
Given room to think instead of rush
Those experiences directly influenced how we’re approaching both this blog and our upcoming podcast, A Space That Moves You.
Our goal isn’t to dominate conversations or showcase expertise for the sake of it. It’s to create space—for ideas, for curiosity, for honest dialogue about fitness, business, leadership, and the environments that support them.
We want to emulate what our colleagues and peers have done so well for us: show up prepared, stay curious, and remain open to learning from people doing interesting, intentional work in our industry and beyond.
Creating Space for What Actually Matters
At the end of the day, this blog exists for the same reason we build gyms and host conversations.
Because space matters.
Because intention matters.
Because people thrive when their environments support who they’re becoming—not just who they’ve been.
We’re glad you’re here.
